The biggest problem is the site supervisor shows poor attention to detail. The subs keep taking the key and I cannot get into my own house. The company does not return calls, or provide a key. The supervisor will not return my calls to get a key to check on the work. It has been almost a week since I could get inside, and I am out there at least once a day...locked out. To whom this may concern, This is a formal complaint in reference to our home that was recently constructed by the Akron branch of Schumacher Homes.
In my opinion they spread themselves to thin by working on several homes at a time. Analyzing permits over the last 4 years shows that Schumacher Homes of Nc mostly works on new construction projects. We generally recommend hiring a contractor with a score higher than 95. Get bids from the top-rated contractors in your area. Stay on top of the project, and be a kind person!!!! There are many things that aren't a big deal to fix if they are caught early.

10 foot ceilings are most definitely worth it!! I remember being pleasantly surprised about the cost. I think it was a couple thousand extra dollars, but soooooo much impact!! Not a budget buster in the whole scheme but one of the big decisions you can never change down the road. Do a search and you'll find lots of threads regarding Schumacher homes.
Squaring them off as 6x6s or 8x8s (min.) with more detail would work better. You might also consider a extending a cathedral gable canopy in line with the entrance to help better define the entry. Lighting options of recessed lights in the canopy or coach lights on either side of the doorway would really highlight the entrance. I also like the comment of adding stone veneer on each side of the doorway.
